ProMAC is an international conference brand of the Society of Project Management (SPM), with a rich 23-year history.
We are pleased to announce a minor revision to the ProMAC paper review process over the past year.
The previous review process, prior to 2023, for papers submitted to ProMAC was the same level of review as for peer-reviewed journal papers. While this method is popular with authors who value research merit, it has the disadvantage of delaying the timing of acceptance or rejection decisions.
For ProMAC2024, after the nomination of presenters by abstract review, all submitted papers will be divided into two categories: reviewed paper and oral presentation paper, according to the result of peer review by two anonymous reviewers.
On the occasion of this revision, the review process will be updated to the following process:
1. nomination of presenters through abstract review by the ProMAC Program Committee,
2. for those who wish to be an author of a reviewed paper, the paper reaches the peer-review process by two anonymous reviewers of the Program Committee.
3. if the paper passes the peer review, it will be accepted as a reviewed paper by the ProMAC Program Committee, and after the conference, the paper will be recommended to the Editorial Board of SPM as a selected paper for the Journal of Project Management.
Details are shown in the following flow chart.
